Thirteen-year-old cat Jamie lives with his beloved owner, Sarah Dempsey. She brought the cat from the shelter, forever remembering the day when she decided that he would become her pet.
The girl went to the shelter for a pet, but she thought to take a small kitten, not an elderly cat. When Sarah walked along the cages, she saw an adult cat who was sleeping peacefully in a cage, not at all reacting to the visitor. Only when the girl came very close, the animal opened its eyes and looked at the visitor. There was so much longing in this look that the girl immediately realized that she would do everything to make the cat feel better.
The staff warned Sarah that Jamie was not young and had a hard life before. The cat changed several owners, in addition, in his youth he caught a bad cold and earned himself health problems that could not be completely cured. The shelter has long resigned itself to the idea that the cat will live out its life with them and have abandoned attempts to find owners for it. These warnings did not frighten Sarah and she left the shelter with Jamie.
The cat surprisingly quickly got used to the girl’s house and with all his might began to show her that she was not mistaken in choosing him. He turned out to be gentle and kind, always trying to be close to the girl. Jamie also has one peculiarity – so that he falls asleep, he holds his paw, otherwise the cat tosses and turns and worries.
