In this episode of “America’s Got Talent,” a 13-year-old singer wows the crowd and Simon Cowell. She performed “I’ll Stand by You” from “The Pretenders.”
Before the song begins, Howie Mandel asks Angelina if she and her mother are close. Angie responds, “Very close, she’s my best friend! Angie told the judges that she found music helped her through her emotions after her parents divorced.
Young Angelina begins the powerful song and her voice overwhelms the audience. The first opening notes elicit enthusiastic applause from the crowd, and the judges look stunned by his tone.
Angie closes the song strong by adding some moving riffs. She sounds like an experienced 30-year-old singer with excellent stage presence. The crowd literally goes wild!
Simon leaps from his chair in a standing ovation, joined by the other judges. He smiles broadly as he marvels at his skill. Cowell says, “Great voice! “You gave me goosebumps! Really, I’m excited because I think you’re a really, really, really talented person.
Howie tells Angelina that it’s awesome that she can use her pain to make great music and move someone in an emotionally powerful way. The judges all admire his courage and performance.
To top it all off, Heidi Klum presses the “Golden buzzer” and glittering confetti rains down from the ceiling. Angelina’s mother joins her on stage to give her a hug, and the audience continues to applaud this feel-good story from “America’s Got Talent.”
