It is not known what happened, but only six small puppies were left without a mother. Without outside help, the crumbs would not have survived even a couple of days, so they were lucky that they got in the way of a cat with highly developed paternal feelings. The cat decided to help the kids and take care of them.
To feed his adopted children, the cat went hunting and caught mice, birds, and sometimes lizards. A caring dad watched not only the food, but also the appearance of the puppies, thoroughly washing them. Volunteers found an unusual family in a landing in Anapa.
The cat himself called for help. Immediately the animal began to scream loudly, and making sure that people paid attention to it, he led them between the trees. People did not immediately understand what was happening, because the situation in which cats take care of puppies is very extraordinary.
As it turned out, the cat did an excellent job: the kids were fed, washed and healthy. Many cats willingly take on the obligation to take care of someone else’s offspring, but cats almost never show such zeal. For a long time, the animal was considered a mother, and its care for puppies was explained by a developed maternal instinct.
People set up a booth for the cat and puppies, and in the warm season the family lived in it, when it got colder, all the animals were taken from the street.
A spacious warm booth was built in the new house for puppies. The cat was the first to enter the new dwelling, and only after he approved it, the puppies could enter there.
The puppies grew rapidly, their habit of sleeping just on the cat began to threaten the life of the animal. Volunteers took the cat into the house and only then realized that it was not mom at all, but dad.
The cat did not leave his foster children unattended, he often came to visit them and checked that the kids were full and clean.
Soon the kids found new families, their departure brought the cat to despair, so it was decided that he should also find a new home. Soon the cat was taken in by an elderly couple who had recently lost a pet, very similar in appearance to our hero. The cat was named Marsik, he lives happily in a new house. The owners say that the cat does not hunt birds and mice, probably, he did this only in order to save his children from starvation.
